Devayani introduced by her guru Kalaimamani V.S. Muthuswamy Pillai, performed
her Arangetram, which is the official debut, at Rasika Ranjani Sabha in
Madras to a packed audience of connoisseurs and dignitaries who came to
see the new star of Indian dance. Devayani had just emerged from her success
in the Telugu film America Ammayi in which in the lead role she performs
brilliantly a solo of Kuchipudi dance in the temple of Chidambaram. With
her arangetram Devayani was launched to the world to perform and promote
the ancient traditional dance Bharata Natyam and to carry her message
all over the world.
Bharata Natyam is a universal form of Art, perhaps
the oldest traditional dance Art because of its inherent beauty, serenity
and profound message of human and devotional love.

"Technical Requirements"
THEATRE / STAGE
- To be made available the day before the show or in the morning of the show along with facilities for rehearsal, sound & light. All technical experts to be present
- On left side of the stage from the audience point of view : platform, if possible, for orchestra with thick carpet on top covered with side masking with black or white cloth for the musicians. Size : 10f(length) X 3f(width)
SOUND
For a show to live Orchestra :- 6 to 12 mikes (2 mikes per musicians) with small adjustable stands
Example : 8 mikes for 4 musicians - One mike with standing level stand for compere / artist

- 10 Spotlights known as profiles for creating darkness effect on the stage for enhancing still poses for instance & creating effect
- Smoke (Optional) for dramatic effect in the last dance : The Prayer
- General stage lights, side lights with white, amber, pink, orange, red, deep purple
